LOS TRAPOS
Los Trapos opened its doors in 2014 in Porto Alegre, RS, shortly before the soccer World Cup in Brazil and was very successful among fans of several countries that visited the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Los Trapos is one of the first Football Culture stores in Brazil. The store excels by the culture of “old school” football played anywhere with any ball. This global movement says not to modern football and football art which, according to them, has become too commercial. The store was planned and designed by the partnership between the shop owner and That Design Company to offer shoppers football lovers a truly outstanding experience in this segment.
With a “low profile” environment, peeling walls, shelves merely leaning against the walls and a button table where anyone can play. In the window a bicycle created by the owner with the name of the inventor of the famous bicycle kick, Mr. Leônidas da Silva, the popular Black Diamond. As the kick is given upside down we decided to put the bike also upside down in the window. In the mezzanine there is an area with tables where the famous Café do Mercado is served, where it is possible to work, have a meeting or even watch football matches. In every corner there is a football curiosity, as from where the term “la hincha” or the popular “the fan” came up. With much effort the owner, along with another street bar managed to create next to the city hall the Football Street, thundering the same a tourist spot of the Bairro Cidade Baixa.
